When did registration become mandatory?
On June 1, 2005 the EUB stated:
Every licensee shall register with the Alberta One-Call service
and shall
(a) register every licensed pipeline with Alberta One-Call regardless
of the operational status of the pipeline, and
(b) for new construction, register the pipeline prior to putting
it into operation.

What is the deadline for registration with Alberta
One-Call?
The EUB requires all pipelines to be registered
with Alberta One-Call by May 31, 2006.
I know that my pipelines need to registered by May
31, 2006, but why should I register now?
Each day that you have not registered with Alberta
One-Call exposes your pipelines to the risk of third party damage.
Many companies believe their assets are protected by ground disturbance
policies and industry requirements for industrial dig activities.
Although this may be true for professional excavators, much of the
general population does not follow proper digging procedures, but
they are aware of Alberta One-Call.
What are the benefits of registration?
Registration is now mandatory and has many
benefits. Registration with Alberta One-Call reduces your company’s
risk of accidents, injury, environmental or facility damage and
down time. It also helps to improve your company’s safety record
as well as lower its litigation and compensational costs.
If all of our pipelines are registered with the
EUB, doesn’t that already meet the registration requirements for
Alberta One-Call?
No. You must register your pipelines, including
their accurate geographic location, directly with the Alberta One-Call
organization.
How much effort does this process require from us?
All we need from you is the contact information
of the employees who will receive the locate requests. Also, if
you would like the locate calls to be sent directly to the individual
operating districts, you must outline where the boarders of those
divisions lie.
How long does the whole process take?
We complete each Alberta One-Call registration project
in as little as three weeks.
What will happen if we sell or acquire any pipelines?
This is where our registration system greatly reduces

Do we have to buy a copy of your software in order
