The Alberta One-Call System

Alberta One-Call is a private, not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to prevent damage to buried facilities through education, advocacy, public awareness, and dependable cost effective communication and exchange of info between members and those intending to disturb the ground.

Registration with Alberta One-Call is now mandatory. The EUB requires all pipelines to register with Alberta-One Call by May 31, 2006 (EUB PipelineRegulation-AR91-2005).

Benefits of registering with Alberta One-Call:

  • Reduces the risk of having someone (either a private individual or an Oil & Gas employee) dig up and damage one of your pipelines
  • Damaged pipelines can result in the following:
    • Loss of human life
    • Public relations problems
    • Financial repercussions
    • Repair costs
    • Loss of production
    • Regulatory enforcement
    • Environmental damage

Registering with Alberta One-Call dramatically reduces the probability of these things happening.
